Monsoon for kids means splashing waters
As the dark clouds inch closer and the downpour begins in July, we know it is time for monsoon. The monsoon period is often associated with relief from the scorching heat of the summer. It is the time for dancing in the rain, an occasional food indulgence and the treat of a hot beverage. For kids, it means fun and frolic in the streets as they get drenched in the downpour.

Monsoon is a delightful time of the year, but it is also a breeding ground for infections and ailments. You need to take all precautions and preventive measures to protect your kids against these unruly disease-carrying particles. • Food intake
  Wash fruits and vegetables properly before cooking. Minimize the intake of raw foods during this period. It is also important to maintain a healthy diet in the rainy season, which means that your favourite chaat, juices, kulfis and another street food are off the menu.
• Eye care
  Children’s eyes are very sensitive to irritants; eye infections like conjunctivitis, stye, dry eyes and corneal ulcers are common during the monsoons. Don’t let your child rub  the eyes and eye drops should be used every night.
