PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship- Season 2 breaks its own record with over 3800 shuttlers participating in Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Chennai

Hyderabad, January 21, 2016: PNB MetLife India, one of India’s leading life insurance companies proudly announces Vaishnavi Jakka Reddy as the Brand Ambassador for all its badminton initiatives and child propositions including the popular series ‘PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship’. Adding a new and exciting dimension to the tournament, the bright young Under 15 shuttler Vaishnavi will be seen promoting and playing in PNB MetLife JBC during her two-year contract. PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship is the only national platform with U9 and U11 tournaments approved by BADMINTON ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (BAI).

 The first-ever brand ambassador for any Junior Badminton Championship in India, Vaishnavi Reddy takes the lead to represent young shuttlers at the national level. Her association with PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC) is aimed at maximizing support for the noble initiative to promote badminton at grass-root level across the country which is being organized by SARA Foundation.

The bright young shuttler Vaishnavi Reddy is a Under -15 player and holds the National Rank #1 in Girls Singles’ as well as Girls Doubles’ as per Badminton Association of India (as on Jan 20, 2016). Hailing from Hyderabad, the promising performance of Vaishnavi at National and International Badminton tournaments will inspire children who love playing badminton and are keen test their skills at the PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC).

 With more than 3800 entries received for the tournaments across Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Chennai, PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC) - Season 2 has already surpassed the record of its first season and highlights its popularity among young shuttlers. The matches  are played under 5 categories - U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17 for both boys and girls.

After Chennai, the league is set to get under way in Hyderabad, Lucknow, Calicut and Guwahati. The feat would shift back to Delhi for the semi-finals and finals starting March 28, 2016. Ten national winners and sixteen underprivileged children across different age-groups will win scholarships for training in a reputed Badminton Academy.
